The analysts covering Tikehau Capital (EPA:TKO) delivered a dose of negativity to shareholders today, by making a substantial revision to their statutory forecasts for this year. This report focused on revenue estimates, and it looks as though the consensus view of the business has become substantially more conservative. The stock price has risen 7.2% to €17.02 over the past week. It will be interesting to see if this downgrade motivates investors to start selling their holdings.
After the downgrade, the eight analysts covering Tikehau Capital are now predicting revenues of €779m in 2026. If met, this would reflect a meaningful 15% improvement in sales compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are presumed to leap 35% to €1.83. Prior to this update, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of €868m and earnings per share (EPS) of €1.97 in 2026. It looks like analyst sentiment has fallen somewhat in this update, with a measurable cut to revenue estimates and a small dip in earnings per share numbers as well.

Analysts made no major changes to their price target of €21.32, suggesting the downgrades are not expected to have a long-term impact on Tikehau Capital's valuation.
Another way we can view these estimates is in the context of the bigger picture, such as how the forecasts stack up against past performance, and whether forecasts are more or less bullish relative to other companies in the industry. For example, we noticed that Tikehau Capital's rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with revenues forecast to exhibit 33% growth to the end of 2026 on an annualised basis. That is well above its historical decline of 7.4% a year over the past five years. What's also interesting is that our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to see their revenue decline 6.9% annually for the foreseeable future. So although Tikehau Capital is expected to return to growth, it's also expected to grow revenues during a time when the wider industry is estimated to see revenue decline.
The most important thing to take away is that analysts cut their earnings per share estimates, expecting a clear decline in business conditions. Sadly they also cut their revenue estimates, although at least the company is expected to perform a bit better than the wider market. Given the stark change in sentiment, we'd understand if investors became more cautious on Tikehau Capital after today.
Even so, the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for the value creation of shareholders. We have estimates - from multiple Tikehau Capital analysts - going out to 2028, and you can see them free on our platform here.
