11:29 AM EDT, 08/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- A consortium that includes commodities giant Glencore (GLEN.L, GLN.JO) formally submitted a comprehensive, nonbinding recapitalization proposal to the board of nickel and cobalt miner Sherritt International. The proposal would give eligible existing shareholders the opportunity to buy newly issued equity at CA$0.12 per share, according to a Monday release. The proposal is structured as a fully funded transaction and would leave the consortium owning at least 55% of the company on a fully diluted basis. The consortium also comprises an unnamed US anchor investor, Kyma Capital, and global financial markets investor Trifon Natsis.
