07:07 AM EDT, 08/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- German energy company Uniper (UN0.F) earmarked over 10 former locations across Europe that it could sell or lease to data center developers, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing Chief Executive Michael Lewis. Lewis told analysts that data center projects for two sites in the UK and one in Germany are at an advanced stage and more investment decisions are possible by the end of 2026, according to the report. Overall, four of the sites are in the UK, three in Germany, two in Sweden and one in the Netherlands. Uniper has sites with existing power connections near populated areas that are becoming available as it moves away from coal-fired electricity generation, enabling it to capitalize on surging demand for data centers, Bloomberg reported.
