German Annual Inflation Rises to 2.8% in July, Final Data Shows

02:14 AM EDT, 08/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Confirming the flash estimate, Germany's annual inflation rate increased to 2.8% in July from 2.3% in June, final data from the country's Federal Statistical Office showed Wednesday. On a monthly basis, consumer prices were up 0.8%, matching the preliminary reading. The annual harmonized inflation rate stood at 2.8%, consistent with the flash data and compared with the prior 2.4%. Meanwhile, harmonized consumer prices were up 0.9% month over month, as expected.
