11:26 AM EDT, 08/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The German government is seeking nonbinding offers for Uniper (UN0.F) by Sept. 21, with advisers UBS Group (UBSG.SW) and JPMorgan sending letters to interested parties, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing sources. Germany's finance ministry reportedly prefers that Uniper remain an integrated gas trading and power production company. The government owns 99.12% of Uniper, which was nationalized in 2022 as part of a financial stabilization package following the failure of Russian gas deliveries amid its war against Ukraine, according to the company's website. UBS had no comment, while Uniper and JPMorgan did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
