Listen to the news

Archer Aviation Inc. (NYSE:ACHR) stock traded lower Wednesday as market participants digested news surrounding its agreement with Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA).

Boeing Acquisition Details

On Monday, Boeing and Archer Aviation signed agreements for Archer Aviation to acquire Wisk Aero, SkyGrid and Insitu.

Archer Aviation noted the all-stock transaction could "significantly change the profile" of the company.

According to Archer Aviation, the profitable Insitu unit generates over $200 million in annual revenue.

The company expects Insitu to contribute positive free cash flow following the transaction.

Archer Aviation’s Key Technical Levels To Watch

ACHR is still holding a strong short-term trend, trading 21.7% above its 20-day SMA ($5.19) and 20.9% above its 50-day SMA ($5.22), which suggests the bigger move off the recent lows hasn’t fully broken. At the same time, it’s trading 6.4% below its 200-day SMA ($6.74), a common "decision zone" where rallies can stall and volatility picks up.

MACD is the cleaner momentum read right now: it’s above its signal line and the histogram is positive, which points to improving momentum versus the prior downswing even if the longer-term trend hasn’t fully flipped. The catch is the longer-term structure is still pressured by the death cross from December 2025 (50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA), so bulls typically need sustained closes above the 200-day area to shift the longer-term narrative.

ACHR’s Significant ETF Exposure and Fund Flows

  • Defiance Drone and Modern Warfare ETF (NYSE:JEDI): 4.98% Weight
  • Tradr 2X Long ACHR Daily ETF (NASDAQ:ARCX): 184.35% Weight
  • Corgi Drones & Urban Air Mobility ETF (NASDAQ:BZZ): 4.08% Weight

Significance: Because ACHR carries such a heavy weight in these funds, any significant inflows or outflows for these ETFs will likely force automatic buying or selling of the stock.

ACHR Price Action: Archer Aviation shares were down 6.77% to $6.33 at the time of publication on Wednesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
