06:08 AM EDT, 08/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Competition and Markets Authority provisionally concluded that a decision by the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority, the decision-making body of the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets, was not wrong on any of the grounds of appeal filed by gas distribution network companies in Great Britain. The regulator said Friday its role is not to revisit GEMA's entire Feb. 3 decision to modify gas transportation licenses to implement the RIIO-3 price control. Instead, it is required to assess whether the decision was wrong under one of five specific statutory grounds raised in the appeals. The CMA added it had issued the parties its provisional determinations setting out its findings and reasons. The determinations are not yet final.
