08:25 AM EDT, 08/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- British aerospace and defense company BAE Systems (BA.L) reached a $36 million administrative settlement with the US Department of State to resolve 104 violations of the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. The violations included unauthorized exports of technical data to multiple countries, including China, and breaching the terms of Directorate of Defense Trade Controls authorizations involving various countries, according to a Thursday release. BAE Systems voluntarily disclosed all but one of the alleged violations. The department agreed to suspend $18 million of the total penalty amount on the condition that the funds will be used for BAE Systems' compliance program. BAE Systems did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
