Sandoz to Collaborate with Henlius Biotech on Up to 10 Biosimilars

11:25 PM EDT, 08/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sandoz Group (SDZ.SW) said Monday it entered into a $322 million collaboration agreement with biopharmaceutical company Shanghai Henlius Biotech concerning up to 10 biosimilars. The Swiss drugmaker gains global commercialization rights outside China for the covered biosimilars, agreeing to pay milestone-based considerations, with near-term payments of up to $100.5 million for the initial assets. Henlius will be in charge of development and manufacturing. Initial assets covered in the deal include a proposed biosimilar for cetuximab, evolocumab and belimumab, as well as an option for recombinant human hyaluronidase. Sandoz's biosimilar pipeline increased to 39 assets following the deal, with potential further expansion to up to 46 assets.
