On August 16, Japan's newly revised “Export Trade Control Order” officially came into effect. From high-end 5-axis CNC machine tools, high-precision rotary turntables, to 5-axis CNC system design and manufacturing technology, the entire chain is included in the Class II control list. This means that exports of these precision machine tools to China have changed from volume licensing to “one case at a time,” and the approval cycle may be extended to as long as half a year. In particular, in key industries such as aerospace, military, and semiconductors, the rejection rate may exceed 80%. In the industry, high-end machine tools are known as “industrial mother machines”, such as aero engine blades, precision molds, and semiconductor equipment. The five-axis linkage capability determines the upper limit of accuracy of these products. Japan has a strong voice in this field. Japan dominates more than 40% of the world's high-end 5-axis machine tool exports, and has even won about 70% of the Chinese high-end market. Anyone with a clear eye can see that this is not only a counterattack on China's implementation of export controls on dual-use items and restrictions on Japan's right-wing “re-militarization” in accordance with the law, but also a “signature” for America's containment strategy against China. Japan is counting on playing this “machine card” to get stuck in China's neck in exchange for bargaining chips such as the supply of rare earths. However, this is bound to be a “one thousand self-damage” strategic misjudgment. Not only will it not be able to threaten China, but it will also cut off its own meridian and eat its own consequences. History has proven time and again that a “stuck neck” cannot hold back China. Whether it's Tianhe or Shenwei series supercomputing, or semiconductor technology such as etching machines and thin film deposition, any attempt to curb China's development through a technological blockade will ultimately force China to complete autonomy and control, and eventually lose the Chinese market. The disease was taken to medical treatment in a hurry. Instead of reflecting on its own lesion, the Japanese side furiously advanced on the wrong path. The results of this “self-harm gamble” are already predetermined.
