On August 20, the Shanghai Futures Exchange issued the “Notice on Further Expanding the Scope of Eligible Overseas Investors Participating in Commodity Futures and Options Trading”. With the approval of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, starting from September 10, 2026, the Shanghai Futures Exchange will further expand the range of products that can be traded by qualified overseas institutional investors and RMB qualified overseas institutional investors, and will open up the following commodity options: hot-rolled coils and stainless steel options.
