Listen to the news

Sandisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) stock rose more than 1% in Thursday premarket trading. The move comes as the stock attempts to rebound after recent volatility. Nasdaq futures edged up 0.02%, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.09%.

With no clear company-specific catalyst, Thursday’s early gain appears to be a rebound attempt. Sandisk remains above its long-term trend line but is still below a key intermediate moving average.

The stock is now approaching resistance near the mid-$1,600 range.

Technical Analysis

Sandisk remains in a strong long-term uptrend. The stock trades 71.4% above its 200-day simple moving average of $925.26.

However, shares are 4.2% below the 50-day SMA of $1,656.04. That suggests the recent move has been a consolidation rather than a clear continuation of the rally.

The relative strength index stands at 53.18, signaling neutral momentum.

Resistance sits near $1,696.50. Support is around $1,485, close to the 20-day exponential moving average of $1,475.20.

Sandisk has traded between $43.20 and $2,354.39 over the past 52 weeks. The stock hit its 52-week high in June before pulling back sharply in July.
