No Immediate Gas Supply Concerns in EU, Commission Says

11:45 AM EDT, 08/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Union has no immediate concerns regarding its supply of natural gas, with storage capacity being 62% full amid the Middle East war, Reuters reported Thursday, citing European Commission spokesperson Eva Hrncirova. The current storage amount ahead of winter, however, is below the 74% recorded at the same period in 2025, according to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe, the news outlet noted.
