Reversal Of Fortune For Macro Metals Insiders Who Made A AU$1.32m Purchase
Share
Listen to the news

Insiders who purchased AU$1.32m worth of Macro Metals Limited (ASX:M4M) shares over the past year recouped some of their losses after price gained 30% last week. However, total losses seen by insiders are still AU$374k since the time of purchase.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Macro Metals

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Director Shawn Tilley bought AU$1.0m worth of shares at a price of AU$0.01 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being AU$0.0065). While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. To us, it's very important to consider the price insiders pay for shares. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price.

In the last twelve months Macro Metals insiders were buying shares, but not selling. Insider Ownership

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Insiders own 34% of Macro Metals shares, worth about AU$10.0m. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.
