04:25 AM EDT, 08/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- German airline Deutsche Lufthansa's (LHA.F) Discover Airlines said Friday its Europe-bound flights from Windhoek, Namibia, are facing disruptions due to a temporary local shortage of jet fuel. Flights from Windhoek to Frankfurt or Munich, Germany, will make a brief stop at Luanda International Airport in Angola for refuelling. Edelweiss Air's flights from Windhoek to Zurich, Switzerland, may also make a refuelling stop despite operating on schedule, according to a statement from the Discover Airlines Press Office. Discover Airlines said departure times at Windhoek airport will remain unchanged and passengers at risk of missing connecting flights will be automatically rebooked. The airline added that its fuel procurement and ground staff are exploring options to restore the normal fuel supply.
