06:18 AM EDT, 08/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission ended an antitrust investigation into Pratt & Whitney Canada after the turboprop aircraft engine supplier amended contractual terms that may have restricted competition in the spare parts market. The probe examined whether Pratt & Whitney limited independent suppliers' access to used engine cores and certification services for reusable spare parts, according to a Friday release. Following discussions with the Commission, Pratt & Whitney removed the disputed restrictions and clarified that maintenance shops within its network may purchase used serviceable material from other suppliers. The Commission said the changes addressed its concerns and that further action was no longer a priority at the European Union level.
