QUICK SPARK: Nuclear Stocks Are Up 16% In August, 3 Names Rallied By Over 30%

Listen to the news

VanEck Uranium and Nuclear ETF (NYSE:NLR) is up roughly 16% month-to-date, on pace for its best month since January and a sharp reversal off the $101.92 low set in July.

The gains sit almost entirely with the miners.

Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE:UUUU) has added about 39%, Uranium Energy Corp. (NYSE:UEC) about 38% and Denison Mines Corp. (NYSE:DNN) about 33%.

Uranium itself barely moved, with the spot price near $89.55 a pound on Aug. 24, up less than 4% over the same stretch.

The reactor-side names went the other way entirely: BWX Technologies Inc. (NYSE:BWXT), which builds nuclear components rather than mining the fuel, is down about 12% this month.
