01:41 AM EDT, 08/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Gubra (GUBRA.CO) on Wednesday flagged a milestone payment of $50 million after AbbVie initiated a phase 2 clinical trial of obesity drug ABBV-295. The study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of ABBV-295 in 360 adults with obesity and at least one weight-related comorbidity, with the percentage change in body weight from baseline at week 32 as the primary endpoint. The disease-agnostic techbio company and AbbVie signed a license agreement for ABBV-295 in March 2025, with Gubra eligible to receive milestone payments of up to $1.88 billion.
