05:58 AM EDT, 08/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission said Wednesday it approved the planned joint venture between Switzerland's Ineos AG and China-based China Petroleum & Chemical, or Sinopec. The regulator concluded that the venture, which mainly covers the high-density polyethylene sector, would not raise competition concerns due to its limited impact on the European Economic Area.
