Listen to the news

Shares of Moderna Inc. (NASDAQ:MRNA) are trading slightly lower Wednesday morning, taking a brief pause after surging more than 150% following landmark clinical trial updates for its oncology pipeline. The modest retreat reflects routine profit-taking and consolidation as investors digest the recent momentum.

Oncology Pipeline Breakthrough Re-Energizes Long-Term Outlook

Despite the pullback Wednesday morning, market sentiment surrounding the biotechnology pioneer remains elevated following last week’s historic Phase 3 INTerpath-001 trial results.

Developed in partnership with Merck & Co, Moderna’s individualized mRNA cancer therapy, intismeran (V940/mRNA-4157), combined with Keytruda, demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in melanoma recurrence.

The positive late-stage trial outcome marked the first successful Phase 3 validation for an individualized mRNA cancer treatment, triggering Wall Street price target upgrades and signaling a major strategic transition from pandemic-era vaccine revenues to a broader oncology platform.

MRNA Shares Fall Wednesday Morning

MRNA Price Action: Moderna shares were down 2.75% at $154.47 during premarket trading on Wednesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
