12:15 AM EDT, 08/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Moody's on Wednesday affirmed Wienerberger's (WIBA.F) long-term issuer ratings of Baa3 and changed the outlook to negative from stable. The rating agency said the changed outlook reflects the building materials group's weaker-than-expected earnings and margins, increased leverage after debt-funded acquisitions, and the probability that its credit metrics will remain weak for the current rating over the next 12 to 18 months. Moody's noted that the accelerated conflict in Iran increased input cost inflation for Wienerberger and indirectly weighed on residential new-build activity in several of the company's key markets.
