Listen to the news

Viewing insider transactions for Caledonia Investments Plc's (LON:CLDN ) over the last year, we see that insiders were net buyers. This means that a larger number of shares were purchased by insiders in relation to shares sold.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Caledonia Investments Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Chairman William Wyatt for UK£371k worth of shares, at about UK£3.78 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, at around the current price, which is UK£3.95. That means they have been optimistic about the company in the past, though they may have changed their mind. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. In this case we're pleased to report that the insider bought shares at close to current prices. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was William Wyatt.

William Wyatt bought a total of 136.08k shares over the year at an average price of UK£3.78.
