Lean hog futures are trading with contracts 35 cents lower to 25 cents higher. USDA’s national base hog price was not reported on Thursday morning due to light volume. The CME Lean Hog Index was down another 23 cents on August 25 at $92.42.

Weekly Export Sales data showed 38,690 MT of pork sold for 2026 in the week ending on August 20, a 12-week high. Shipments were pegged at 29,902 MT, back up from the week prior. 

USDA’s pork carcass cutout value was down another $1.46 in the Thursday AM report, at $94.09. The ham was the only primal reported higher. USDA estimated federally inspected hog slaughter for Wednesday at 484,000 head, with the week to date total at 1.423 million head. That is 8,000 head below the previous week and up 7,589 head from the same week last year.

Oct 26 Hogs  are at $80.550, down $0.350,

Dec 26 Hogs  are at $71.225, up $0.250

Feb 27 Hogs are at $73.925, up $0.200,
