SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Gap Inc. (GAP) on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $501 million.

On a per-share basis, the San Francisco-based company said it had profit of $1.38. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 52 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 50 cents per share.

The clothing chain posted revenue of $3.65 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.72 billion.

Gap expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.35 to $2.45 per share.
