KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Bank Bhd's strong first-half performance ((1HFY26) reflects the disciplined execution of PROGRESS27, supported by effective cost optimisation, sound asset quality and purposeful innovation, said group managing director and CEO Datuk Mohd Rashid Mohamad.

In his review of the quarterly results, he said the bank is making steady progress in transforming RHB into a more trusted and customer-centric solutions partner, with a continued focus on delivering sustainable value to customers.

“We are encouraged by the progress we have made so far, driven by the commitment of our people and our continued efforts to make banking simpler, faster and more relevant for our customers," he added.

In the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2QFY26), RHB posted a slight increase in net profit to RM807.15mil from RM803.5mil in the year-ago quarter, owing to higher total income and lower expected credit loss.

Quarterly revenue, however, dipped to RM4.36bil from RM4.5bil in the previous comparative quarter.

Over the six-month period to June 30, 2026 , RHB's net profit rose to RM1.66bil from RM1.55bil in the same 2025 period. Revenue dropped to RM8.62bil from RM8.89bil in 1HFY25.

The group declared an interim dividend of 15 sen per share.

According to the bank's statement, net fund based income grew 5.3% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM3.1bil, supported by 7% y-o-y gross loans growth

and lower funding cost.

Net interest margin (NIM) with liability management stood at 1.86%.

Non-fund based income held steady at RM1.2bil as higher fee income compensated the lower treasury income.

Operating expenses growth was contained at 2.6% y-o-y to RM2bil. Cost-to-income ratio improved to 46.8% from 47.3% a year earlier.

Annualised gross loans grew 6.1% to RM258bil, while annualised customer deposits grew 12.4% to RM268bil with current account savings account (Casa) ratio at 27.6%.
