07:11 AM EDT, 08/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates will launch a "special and urgent" probe into Egyptian lender Banque Misr's branches in the emirate after a notice from US authorities. The Middle Eastern regulator said in an Aug. 28 notice that it will investigate the bank's transactions during the period stipulated in the US Treasury notice, along with the companies mentioned. Reuters reported on the same day that the notice is linked to the bank branches' transactions with Iran.
