European Commission Approves Zambon's Hopledo for Adults with Parkinson's Disease

12:00 AM EDT, 08/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Zambon received marketing authorization from the European Commission for Hopledo to treat moderate to severe motor fluctuations in adults with Parkinson's disease. The pharmaceutical company said Aug. 28 it supported its application for the oral, modified-release formulation of levodopa/carbidopa with data from the phase 3 Rise-PD clinical trial. The approval follows the positive opinion from the European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use. Commercial rollout of Hopledo in the European Union is expected to begin in October.
