03:24 AM EDT, 08/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- OHB (OHB.F) secured a 1 billion-euro contract from SES (SESG.PA) to develop satellite platforms for the European Union's secure satellite constellation program, or IRIS2. The Space technology group will develop 18 medium Earth orbit satellite platforms, according to a Monday release. SES is part of the consortium selected for the Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity and Security by Satellite program, which includes Eutelsat Communications (ETL.PA) and Indra Sistemas' (IDR.MC) Hispasat as well. The first satellites under the program would be launched in 2029, with initial services expected to commence from 2030.
