08:22 AM EDT, 08/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Volkswagen (VOW.F, VOW3.F) highlighted viability concerns for follow-up production at four German factories due to "significant" cost differences with its other European sites, Reuters reported Monday. The German carmaker's Chief Financial Officer Arno Antlitz said future production at the four plants appears economically unviable, following the expected phase-out of current models in the early 2030s, the report said. The CFO added that Volkswagen will try to minimize job losses at the plants.
