08:42 AM EDT, 08/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Eli Lilly (LLY.SW, LLY.F) agreed to acquire US-based biotechnology company Merida Biosciences for up to $2.88 billion in cash, with the deal expected to close in the fourth quarter. The acquisition is expected to bolster Lilly's immunology capabilities, according to a Monday release. Merida's lead program MER511 is in phase 1 development for autoimmune conditions, Graves' disease and thyroid eye disease.
