01:43 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Novartis (NOVN.SW) said Tuesday that its remibrutinib medication was better than teriflunomide at reducing annualized relapse rate and inflammatory brain lesions in two phase III trials of adults with relapsing multiple sclerosis. With a favorable safety profile, remibrutinib exhibited a clinically meaningful decline versus teriflunomide in key secondary endpoints related to disability progression. In a preplanned combined analysis of REMODEL-1/-2 trials, the trend in the three-month confirmed disability progression was positive, with a nominal significance in the six-month confirmed disability progression. The innovative medicines company aims to obtain global regulatory clearance for remibrutinib in relapsing multiple sclerosis.
