02:41 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- GSK (GSK.L) said Tuesday it intends to launch a phase 3 efficacy trial for its messenger ribonucleic acid, or mRNA, seasonal influenza vaccine candidate in September after reporting positive phase 2 data. In the phase 2 Flu-028 trial, the vaccine candidate demonstrated stronger immune responses against all tested influenza strains, compared with licensed standard-dose flu vaccines in younger adults and high-dose flu vaccines in older adults. The randomized, observer-blind Flu-028 study enrolled 971 adults aged 18 years and older, who received varying doses of GSK's multivalent seasonal flu vaccine candidates.
