02:41 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca (AZN.L, AZN.ST) and Daiichi Sankyo's Enhertu combination received approval in the European Union for first-line treatment of adults with unresectable or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer. The combination of Enhertu with pertuzumab was approved after a positive opinion from the European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use, according to a Tuesday release. The positive opinion and approval were based on results from the Destiny-Breast09 phase 3 trial.
