BP Follows Up with Union for Revival of Labor Deal Negotiations for US Refinery

12:03 AM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BP (BP.L) followed up with representatives of workers at its Whiting refinery in the US regarding the potential restart of labor deal negotiations. In a letter made public on Wednesday, bp North America's Head of People Relations Americas Jordan Marcks expressed willingness to meet the United Steelworkers union with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The oil and gas company said it is prepared to meet "as soon as practicable," with Sept. 9 or Sept. 16 floated as options for direct negotiations, noting that it could take several weeks to schedule talks with a mediator.
