02:03 AM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Vulcan Energy Resources (VUL.F) said Wednesday its preliminary feasibility study for the Ludwig lithium and renewable heat development project in Germany outlined "robust economics." The study estimated a post-tax net present value, discounted at 8%, of 1.7 billion euros, an internal rate of return of 20.2%, and a 30-year mine life. The total capital expenditure was estimated at 1.26 billion euros. The project is expected to produce 21,100 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually, as well as 3,125 gigawatt hours of renewable heat per year to support internal process demand and for external sales. The lithium and renewable energy producer plans to make a final investment decision on Ludwig after the start-up of its Lionheart project.
