The Zhitong Finance App learned that on September 3, the Silicon Industry Branch released a weekly review of monocrystalline silicon wafers. This week, the silicon wafer market showed weakening demand and loose supply, and silicon wafer prices fell under pressure. Specifically, on the demand side: this round of overseas procurement orders is coming to an end, export demand is clearly cooling down; domestic terminal procurement sentiment is sluggish, and demand is weak. Supply side: All silicon wafer companies maintain normal operating loads, and supply is relatively relaxed. The oversupply led to an increase in silicon wafer inventories. In order to return capital, some manufacturers cut prices and concessionary shipments, and silicon wafer prices began to decline. According to research, the overall operating rate of the industry this week was the same as last week, with no significant changes. Among them, the operating rate of the two first-tier enterprises was 52% and 54%, the operating rate of integrated enterprises was between 56% and 60%, and the operating rate of the rest of the enterprises was between 50% and 78%.
According to Antec statistics, silicon wafer prices are operating under pressure this week. Among them, the average transaction price of N-type G10L monocrystalline silicon wafers (182*183.75mm/130 μm) was 1.01 yuan/sheet, down 9.82% from last week; the average transaction price of N-type G12R monocrystalline silicon wafers (182*210mm/130 μm) was 1.03 yuan/piece, down 9.65% from last week; N-type G12 monocrystalline silicon wafers (210*210 mm/130 μm) were all 1.15 yuan/sheet, down 5.74% from last week. According to research, downstream battery prices continued to drop this week compared to last week, and module prices continued to operate steadily compared to last week. Among them, the mainstream battery price was 0.29-0.31 yuan/W, down 9.09% from last week, and the mainstream module price was 0.69-0.71 yuan/W, the same as last week.
Looking ahead to the future market, in a situation where supply exceeds demand, silicon wafers are expected to accumulate slightly, and the overall market will maintain a pressurized operating trend in the short term. In the future, we need to focus on changes in polysilicon prices and the pace of downstream procurement and inventory replenishment. If silicon prices are difficult to maintain current prices, the silicon wafer market is likely to show a weak and volatile trend.
