05:09 AM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- German carmaker Volkswagen's (VOW.F, VOW3.F) Audi and SAIC Motor on Thursday launched a new vehicle technology joint venture to support the China-exclusive AUDI brand, Reuters reported the same day, citing a company statement. The Shanghai-based innovation center will specialize in car and driving-control technologies, artificial intelligence-powered cockpits, and next-generation advanced driver-assistance systems. It aims to develop four new AUDI models, with the first vehicle targeted for release in 2028, according to the report. Audi did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
