Founder Group Limited has announced that its subsidiary, Founder Energy Sdn. Bhd., is actively participating in Malaysia’s largest-ever utility-scale solar initiative, the Large-Scale Solar 6 (LSS6) programme. Launched by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) in July 2026, LSS6 aims to introduce 2,500 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity paired with 1,250MW of battery energy storage, further investing between RM13 and RM15 billion (approximately US$3.2 billion to US$3.7 billion) in the energy sector. This programme marks a significant step in Malaysia's energy transition efforts, mandating hybrid solar and battery solutions for the first time, with a focus on achieving full operational capability by the end of 2029. It presents substantial opportunities for companies like Founder Energy, which are involved in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) to support both the immediate construction phase and long-term asset management in the field of renewable energy.
