Listen to the news

Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE:DELL) stock experienced mild downward pressure Thursday, driven by short-term consolidation and standard profit-taking.

The movement comes as investors lock in gains following a 15.76% rally Wednesday, which pushed the stock to $492.

Despite Thursday’s minor pullback, the stock maintains a net gain for the week. Nasdaq futures are down 0.06% while S&P 500 futures have gained 0.07%.

Earnings Beat

The initial price surge followed the company’s fiscal second-quarter 2027 financial release on Tuesday. Dell reported adjusted earnings of $7.04 per share, beating the Wall Street analyst estimate of $4.91 per share by 43%.

Quarterly revenue rose 58% year over year to $46.97 billion.

The top-line result surpassed the Street consensus estimate of $44.95 billion.

Strong demand for servers and artificial intelligence infrastructure drove the quarterly performance, according to the company’s financial report.

Technical Analysis

Dell remains in a strong longer-term uptrend, with the stock trading 5.7% above its 20-day SMA ($458.66), 11.3% above its 50-day SMA ($435.51), 33.3% above its 100-day SMA ($363.79), and 94.3% above its 200-day SMA ($249.53). That distance from the longer moving averages is a classic “extended but still trending” look—bulls generally want pullbacks to stay orderly and hold above key trend lines.

Key levels are tight enough to matter quickly around the open:

  • Key Resistance: $485.50 — a nearby ceiling where rebounds can stall, especially with price already close to that area
  • Key Support: $424 — a prior buyer-defense zone that also lines up as a “must-hold” area if the pullback deepens

Recent analyst moves include:

  • Citigroup: Buy (Raises Target to $600.00) (Sept. 2)
  • JP Morgan: Overweight (Raises Target to $635.00) (Sept. 2)
  • Melius Research: Buy (Raises Target to $735.00) (Sept. 2)

DELL Stock Price Activity: Dell Technologies shares were down 1.67% at $484.00 during premarket trading on Thursday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
