08:17 AM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Apple (APC.F) is facing a 2 billion-pound-sterling lawsuit in London over allegations that it imposed stricter app-tracking permission requirements on third-party developers than on its own services, Reuters reported on Thursday. The lawsuit, filed Thursday at London's Competition Appeal Tribunal on behalf of app developers, is related to Apple's App Tracking Transparency feature, which allows users to decide whether to grant apps permission to track their activity across other apps and websites. Lawyers behind the case alleged that the US technology giant abused its power by applying stricter requirements to third-party developers, giving a competitive advantage to its advertising ecosystem. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
