ABB Bags Electrical Infrastructure Project from LKAB in Sweden

11:54 AM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- ABB (ABBN.SW, ABB.ST) received an order from LKAB to provide the electrical infrastructure for the mining company's new sorting facility in Malmberget, Sweden. The Switzerland-based electrification and automation group will supply medium- and low-voltage switchgears for the facility's power distribution network, according to a Thursday release. ABB is set to install the electrical systems in the second half of 2027, integrating the electrical infrastructure to the existing ABB Ability System 800xA distributed control system in the new plant. The facility is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2028.
