12:23 PM EDT, 09/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- British utility National Grid plc (NG.L) commissioned Linxon for the expansion of its Middleton substation in Lancashire, UK, amid growing energy demand across the region. Linxon will initially carry out engineering and early procurement work for a 400-kilovolt sulfur hexafluoride-free gas‑insulated switchgear substation, using EconiQ technology and associated systems, according to a Thursday release. The extension will be built adjacent to the existing facility.
