S&P: Germany's Construction PMI Hits Eight-Month High in August

03:52 AM EDT, 09/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Germany's overall construction activity remained in contraction territory in August, although the pace of decline markedly slowed amid a renewed pickup in commercial activity for the first time in over a year, S&P Global said Friday. The S&P Global Germany Construction PMI Total Activity Index rose to 48.7 from 42.1 in July, nearing the 50-point neutral mark and marking the highest reading in eight months.
