S&P: UK's Construction PMI Weakens Further in August

04:43 AM EDT, 09/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Britain's construction sector remained in a downturn in August amid declines in residential, commercial and civil engineering activity levels, S&P Global said Friday. The S&P Global UK Construction PMI stood at 44.3, lower than the previous month's 44.7 and the consensus estimate of 45.8. The latest reading marks the 20th straight month the index came in below the neutral 50 threshold.
