Rate Pause Hints Pressure Yields

In a speech delivered Thursday, Federal Reserve Gov. Christopher Waller signaled that incoming inflation data would dictate the central bank’s next interest rate decision, emphasizing that “if recent cooling trends in prices continue, monetary policy may not require additional tightening”.

Kalshi Odds Signal Index Rebalancing

Speculation surrounding index rebalancing is providing an extra catalyst for Bloom Energy stock. Prediction market data on Kalshi currently pegs Bloom Energy as the frontrunner with a 46% chance of S&P 500 inclusion, leading other potential candidates such as SoFi at 18% and Pure Storage at 14%. With S&P Dow Jones Indices expected to announce its official index adjustments on Friday, potential inclusion could trigger forced buying from index-tracking funds.

Technical Analysis

From a trend perspective, the stock is still in a longer-term uptrend: it’s trading 27.6% above its 200-day SMA ($191.21), which typically signals that buyers still control the bigger picture. At the same time, it’s trading 2.3% below its 100-day SMA ($249.61), putting the focus on whether this bounce can reclaim that intermediate trend line.

The near-term setup is more mixed, with the 20-day SMA ($218.07) still below the 50-day SMA ($226.29), a bearish crossover that suggests the prior downswing hasn’t fully washed out. Still, the stock is now back above both the 20-day and 50-day averages (up 11.8% and 7.8%, respectively), which often acts like a "regain the short-term trend" signal if it can hold.

  • Key Resistance: $253.50 — Nearby ceiling that lines up with the stock’s attempt to reclaim the 100-day SMA area.
  • Key Support: $242 — Close-in floor near current price where buyers have recently defended the tape.

BE Stock Price Activity: Bloom Energy shares were up 3.05% at $242.15 at the time of publication on Friday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

Kalshi and Benzinga have an existing data collaboration agreement.
