06:59 AM EDT, 09/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Leonardo SpA (LDO.MI) is looking to partner, invest, or make an acquisition in Ukraine, where small and medium-sized companies and startups have built "particularly innovative, particularly tested solutions," Bloomberg News reported Sept. 5, citing Chief Executive Officer Lorenzo Mariani. The aerospace and defense company aims to target Ukraine's military-technology sector through its new subsidiary in Kyiv. Unveiled in August, the unit will also facilitate the development of Leonardo's Michelangelo air defense system, which will be initially tested in Ukraine by the end of 2026.
