CEO & Director of Enovis Picks Up 50% More Stock
Share
Listen to the news

Potential Enovis Corporation (NYSE:ENOV) shareholders may wish to note that the CEO & Director, Damien McDonald, recently bought US$250k worth of stock, paying US$19.15 for each share. We reckon that's a good sign, especially since the purchase boosted their holding by 50%.

Enovis Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent purchase by Damien McDonald was the biggest purchase of Enovis shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$18.56 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock if insiders have bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price.

Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 39.76k shares worth US$912k. On the other hand they divested 1.67k shares, for US$45k. In the last twelve months there was more buying than selling by Enovis insiders. The average buy price was around US$22.95. I'd consider this a positive as it suggests insiders see value at around the current price. Insider Ownership Of Enovis

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. It appears that Enovis insiders own 1.7% of the company, worth about US$18m. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.

So What Does This Data Suggest About Enovis Insiders?

It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchases. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions. However, we note that the company didn't make a profit over the last twelve months, which makes us cautious. Insiders likely see value in Enovis shares, given these transactions (along with notable insider ownership of the company). While it's good to be aware of what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision. While conducting our analysis, we found that Enovis has 1 warning sign and it would be unwise to ignore it.
