Sandoz Group to Develop Biosimilar Drug Substance Facility in Slovenia

01:26 AM EDT, 09/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Swiss drugmaker Sandoz Group (SDZ.SW) plans to invest $300 million to develop a new biosimilar drug substance facility in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The facility would add 8,000 liters of capacity through four disposable fed-batch reactors, supporting both clinical and commercial manufacturing, according to a Tuesday release. The new facility is expected to boost the company's end-to-end biosimilar development, manufacturing, and supply network in Europe.
