According to reports, this study analyzed proteomics data from 42 patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) in a 12-week clinical trial. Six aging clock models independently developed by different teams around the world consistently showed that the biological age of patients decreased after receiving rentosertib treatment. The effect peaked at week 4, with the most significant decline in the biological age of patients in the group reversed their biological age by 3-4 years, or even up to 6 years in a certain aging clock.
This study marks the first time in the anti-aging field that the clinical evaluation of potential “first-in-class” (first-in-class) drug candidates has been completed, and is expected to bring a new paradigm to anti-aging drug development.
