The New York-based company said it had profit of 84 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $1.04 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.01 per share.

The provider of cleaning and other maintenance services for commercial buildings, hospitals and airports posted revenue of $2.32 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.3 billion.

ABM Industries expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.95 to $4.10 per share.

ABM Industries shares have risen 11% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 2.5% in the last 12 months.
